MAY 31
It’s summer! Wow! Gus set up the air conditioning unit in our bedroom window yesterday, and I’m resigned to it getting turned on in the near future. (Air conditioning is my enemy). This recipe is my new favorite summer meal. It’s got protein, it’s got veggies, it’s super quick, and you don’t have to turn your oven on. It makes really good leftovers, and would be good for meal prep. Ideal summer cooking.

ZINE CLUB
I wrote about the album Alopecia by the band Why?, and it’s going to be a really cool looking zine. You have until midnight tonight to sign up for the May zine.
WHAT I WATCHED
I watched a bunch of the short films of Kenneth Anger, because he just died, and they’re mostly up on youtube. Vulture had a pretty good obituary. I’ve read a fair bit about Anger over the years, and Hollywood Babylon was my beach read a couple of summers ago. Actually spending time with his films was a very interesting experience.
SONG OF THE DAY
I saw Alex Lahey at the entry last night, and she was just fantastic. I know I picked an Alex Lahey song last time, but I had only just started listening to her new album, which is really fantastic, and deserves some more attention. Also, I have mostly listened to Alex Lahey since the last newsletter, this is a reflection of my life. This is perfect summer music. Gus and I were walking home from the show last night, and we were talking about why we like her so much, and it’s because she reminds us of our friends. She’s around our age, queer in a very ordinary way. She was wearing this very cool white embroidered jean jacket with a snake on one pocket, and a flower on the other, and we know so many people who would wear that jacket.
